Teaching Philosophy

Sasha's classes are a little cocktail of ballet, jazz, and contemporary—shaken with a dash of sass and garnished with a wink of physical comedy. She's here for the joy of movement, not the tyranny of perfect lines.

Having spent years dancing from a place of pressure and praise for endurance over expression, Sasha knows how easy it is to lose touch with your own body. That's why she now teaches the way she wishes she'd been taught: with curiosity, compassion, and the radical belief that your body's wisdom matters.

Her classes are open to all bodies and backgrounds—playful sanctuaries where technique grows hand in hand with self-trust. No gold stars for suffering here—just music, presence, and maybe a few giggles along the way.

Sasha believes dance is more than an art form. It's a sacred and ancient medicine that reconnects us to ourselves, to each other, and to something much bigger. (Also, it's very fun.)

From Sasha's Students

I absolutely love Sasha's classes. She offers a great combination of challenge, technique and pure joy. There is so much focus on the fundamentals of dance which has been a game changer for me and helped me feel more confident and capable with dance over all. I would highly recommend her classes to anyone who loves to move, laugh and learn!

I was in the search of different classes to take and came across Sasha's class so I decided to show up one day. Best decision yet! Sasha does a great job at making the class super welcoming and fun. She is such a great teacher and definitely knows her stuff. She also always has a good choice of music as well. I'm happy to have found her class.

Sasha Suslina is a gifted and natural teacher who truly cares about each of her students. She is firm but loving, everything you want from a dance teacher so you can grow and learn in a safe and supportive environment. Along with being an incredible dancer herself, she has a way of communicating that is charming and fun. I look forward to her class every time!

Every class I have had with Sasha has been a true education in movement. Her deep understanding of body mechanics is unparalleled, giving me the confidence to move with a grace and ease I never thought possible. She's a phenomenal teacher and a wonderful human being. For me, most importantly, she is 'fun' (and that keeps me coming back).

Sasha's class leaves me in the best spirits. If you ever wanted to learn prancey, jazzy, leapy technique as an adult, this is the place!

Sasha's technique classes have helped me rediscover my foundation as a dancer, making me stronger, more secure, and more capable in all my choreography work. Her focus on proper technique sets her apart, giving dancers the tools to grow, avoid injury, and expand what's possible. Plus, her choreography is always a blast to learn.

Sasha is a great teacher who really takes the time to make sure her students understand the choreo and feel confident in themselves. She creates a non-intimidating environment that's safe for trying new things while still having a lot of fun.
